GEMS GIRLS' CLUB INFORMATION
MArCH GEMS Girls’ Club (MGEMS) is a Christian club for girls as an alternative to scout type groups.  The club provides a place to nurture Christian friendships and fellowship and explore Christian disciplines of study, prayer and service in age appropriate settings.  In GEMS, small groups of girls are lead and mentored by caring, Christian women.  We have times of singing, playing, study, prayer and crafts, and sometimes service and mission projects.  Most of the time, all activities take place during the scheduled meeting times.  Throughout the year, the girls can earn badges for their efforts in study and service.

There are currently two levels in MGEMS:  Awareness, for 1st – 3rd grade girls, and Discovery, for 4th -6th grade girls.  We have a couple of small groups within these levels, generally divided by ages.  All girls are together for worship and fellowship times, and sometimes we meet as a large group to develop ties between older and younger girls.

Our regular meetings are two times a month during MArCH Enrichment, typically the 1st and 3rd Fridays.  We begin at 1:45 and our meetings last about 1 ½ hours. Currently we meet in room 104 at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church.

There is a small fee to cover supplies and Bible study materials and badges that is paid each semester as needed (last year it was approximately $40 total for the year).  The girls may also choose to receive a GEMS magazine subscription for her age group at an additional cost.  All materials are provided through the group, and girls take their study materials and craft projects with them. Girls are asked to bring their Bibles and have their GEMS books with them.

How to join up: since GEMS is a mentoring and relationship building ministry we add members and have visitors only at planned times. Registration for fall is in August each year and registration for spring is in November. We typically have one visitor day each semester. If you are interested in joining, please just email the club coordinator at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
